Although football fever has been raging for many years in countries outside the US, soccer is finally taking off here in the States, thanks to soccer stars going mainstream. Not only is Landon Donovan the face of the latest EA Sports FIFA 11 video game (which hits stores on September 28 for $30 to $60), but Christiano Ronaldo was just crowed the most popular athlete on Facebook with over 9 million fans.
